As a life long dog lover and mom to 4 dogs of my own, it was only natural that I follow my dream of working with dogs. Following the adoption of one of my dogs, I became keenly aware that many dogs were being abandoned at shelters due to behavioral issues deemed unacceptable by their owners. This led to my desire to help dog owners better communicate with their dog to ensure a lifetime of joy and companionship with their 4 legged family member.
My qualifications include a BS degree in Psychology from Auburn University. In 2009 I completed a year long study and mentorship program with Animal Behavior College, receiving my Dog Trainer Certification upon completion. This training provided essential behavioral and training knowledge as well as hands-on training through a rigorous course of study. During this time, I also completed an externship working with dogs in a shelter environment. In addition to personal dog training, much of my time is spent working with Poodle and Pooch Rescue of Florida to rehabilitate and place homeless dogs. I am also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Pet Professionals Guild, an organization dedicated to force free methods in all aspects of dog handling.
Proper communication and positive rewards based training are keys to a long happy life with your dog. It’s never too late to start a training program or to improve upon the relationship you have with your canine companion. I am committed to helping you strengthen that bond and look forward to hearing from you.
Many happy tails,
